Mini Melbourne Trails & Resources

Docklands

Inner Melbourne's most recent suburb has taken its own sweet time finding its feet!
Initially imagined as a business hub and a site for young single people & retirees to live - Melbourne City Council was surprised to see how many young families flocked to the docks!
We'll be exploring Docklands as a place to live, work and play - you'll have the opportunity to chat to the locals, wander the streets and visit its newest addition - the Library at the Dock. We'll go on a tour, get a brief history lesson & have the opportunity to play with some of their toys - 3D printing & Virtual Reality :)

North Carlton
What lies beneath North Carlton's leafy streets and latte sipping locals? How have local businesses helped shape Carlton's sense of identity & strength as a community?
We will be delving into the North Carlton's history and asking ourselves and the locals what it means to live there - what they would change if they could and why...
We will also go on a discovery tour of North Carlton's past - visiting the Melbourne Cemetery and exploring how one location managed to be a prison, a mental institution and an educational environment!
Your goal will be to build up your investigative skills and use fresh eyes to look into two local gems.

CBD and Fitzroy

Hi Guys,
We will first head to the CBD to perform some experiments and observations about the CBD pace of life.

We will then head to the wonderful suburb of Fitzroy to compare the pace of life to the CBD.

We'll survey, we'll observe, we'll interview a Cafe owner and get to know the suburb better.
